BACI CEREMONY
A Baci Ceremony (sou khouan in Lao, which means “spirit that strengthens or calls the spirit”) is a traditional part of life in Laos. This popular tradition invites the spirits to bring good luck and prosperity into the life of the honoree. During the Baci Ceremony, we position ourselves in a circle around the makbeng, a floral sculpture with vibrant colors to which are connected white strings that are tied around the wrists of each participant.
